It seems that my mind was on autopilot this morning. I quickly grabbed this week's spelling list to have it run and forgot to check for typos. One "eagle-eyed" student caught a mistake! On the second page of the list, you'll notice that there are two "ay" categories listed rather that one "ay" and one "ai." In addition, you'll notice the wrong spelling skill listed at the bottom of the first page. We are NOT sorting digraphs this week. We ARE sorting the long a spelling patterns "ai" and "ay."
I also meant to include a note at the bottom of this week's communication sheet about the writing notebooks that were sent home with your child today. The green "Silly Stories" notebook is from the very beginning of the year. The red "Nature Walk" notebook was completed by the beginning of December. I sent the two home together so you can see what great progress your child has made as a writer so far this year. Reading you child's writing is one of my favorite things to do each day. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Happy New Year!
